For their 2024 events, The IMEX Group has chosen IMPACT as the theme for their upcoming exhibitions: IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America.
Ahead of TranslateAble’s inaugural exhibiting at IMEX Frankfurt, Julia Danmeri – TranslateAble’s Founder and CEO – shares her thoughts on this year’s theme and why she’s looking forward to this year’s show.
“Events are a wonderful ecosystem we get to create, containing everything you need in a short, sharp burst, whether it’s industry friends or education. As event organisers, we get to build this platform for industries and communities to come together, make connections and progress their industry..
For me, it is in bringing people together to connect where event professionals really make an impact. Through our work, we facilitate conversations and build strong, lasting relationships that span the globe.
Solving language barriers at events is my contribution to making a positive impact at events. At TranslateAble, we are dedicated to championing and improving language services for the events industry because we’ve experienced first hand the difference languages can make to relationships and individual experiences. By simplifying and streamlining services such as interpreting, live captioning, translation and transcription; event professionals can engage more effectively with their audience, while making the audience feel more comfortable and ‘seen’.
I launched TranslateAble in response to my own experiences in trying to find language service providers during my 20-years in event operations. There are many translation and language service providers out there, but having someone who understood the event language (shell scheme, markout), timelines and budget realities of running events was always the issue.
My love of languages budded at a young age, growing up in a multilingual household where Ukrainian, Russian and English were spoken. Alongside my events role, I became a qualified translator with a postgraduate degree in Translation Studies,a French (Institut Français) and Spanish (Instituto Cervantes) language certifications.
I feel really lucky to be able to combine my two ‘loves’ that have been part of my life for so long – languages and events – and work with event managers every day who are constantly making an impact and curating experiences that will provide a lasting memory for attendees.
