1. Tell us about your event.

Share the basic details of your event: event type, date, location, languages needed, subject matter and expected audience size. Not sure about some of the details yet? No problem, over extensive event experiences means we're used to working with incomplete briefs. We know the right questions to ask to get you started.

2. We recommend the right format.

Based on your event, we'll advise whether simultaneous, consecutive or remote interpretation is the best fit and compare the cost of each so you can make an informed decision.

3. We match your interpreters.

We select language professionals based on native-level fluency, subject-matter expertise and local availability, so the interpreter briefed on your energy conference actually understands the content, not just the language.

4. We handle the logistics.

From equipment hire and booth setup to platform configuration for remote events, we’ll work with you and your event suppliers to manage the technical side so your team doesn't have to.

5. We're there on the day.

Unlike most language agencies, your TranslateAble account manager is available throughout your event (onsite or on-call) to handle anything that comes up in the room.

Interpreters + Equipment, All in One.

At TranslateAble, we don’t just provide highly skilled language professionals, we can also manage all the interpreting equipment your event needs.

For in-person events, this includes interpreter booths, headsets, and technical support.

For remote events, we work with multiple interpreting platforms, remote technical support and headsets if attendees aren’t using their own devices.

Interpreting for Events - Your Questions, Answered

  • The main types of interpreting are:

    • Simultaneous: the interpreter works at the same time as the speaker is talking.

    • Consecutive: the speaker pauses, the interpreter speaks, then the speaker continues. This means you need to allow double the time for the session.

    • Whispered (chuchotage): typically used for 1–2 people, where the interpreter sits nearby and whispers the translation.

If you’re unsure, the TranslateAble team will work with you to advise on which type of interpreting will work best for your event or meeting.

  • All interpreters are selected based on the following essential criteria:

    • Language: both languages they are interpreting from and to must be at native level.

    • Location: we prefer to source locally, wherever possible, to support sustainability and budgets and, ensures your event positively impacts the local community.

    • Expertise: they must be experts in the subject matter to ensure it sounds natural to the audience.

  • Pricing is based on event location, language combination, duration and format — we always compare in-person and remote options to find the best value for your budget.

We take more of a deep dive into interpretation and event budgets in our blog here. Remember, our team are always here to help and happy to provide a ‘no obligation’ quote for your next event.

  • As a guide, for events lasting longer than around 45 minutes, interpreters typically work in pairs, alternating every 20–30 minutes.

The TranslateAble team are available to discuss this with you in detail during the quotation process.

  • No. It depends on a variety of factors, including the number of people requiring interpreting and the cost and reliability of internet at the venue. This is why TranslateAble provides alternative options where we believe one approach may be more cost-effective than the other.

  • We always prioritise sourcing interpreters locally. Travel costs may need to be considered if a language pair is rare in that country, if a specific interpreter is requested, or if an event is confirmed late and interpreter availability is limited for that language pair.

  • Yes we can, and we will liaise with your event’s AV team to get it set up.
